Compositing should not be thought of as just slapping a green screen over a background. Nine times out of ten is not a simple A over B. Even if your green or blue screen looks great from, a video telezine the high-res scan or 2K/4K digital frames may reveal excess noise, grain and shadows that are difficult to key. Integration of various elements like matte painting, practicals (fire, smoke, water...), CGI (2D or 3D) takes a talented artist to achieve that realism. It is very easy for the human eye to perceive imperfection. Finalizing the last 10% of a shot could take 30-40% of the production time. This is something clients may not be aware of. Getting a shot 70-80% complete is easy but the last 10-20% of perfection is what make a shot look real or questionable. We can give you that last 10% to make your shot believable.

We just finished grading our 1st indie film Island Dreams and you can see the Trailer. The color correction and grading was done with Magic Bullet, Looks in Premiere Pro Cs6. This adds the speed and integration without going to another platform. Most importantly is not the tools but the artistic interpretation and skills of the colorist.
